Cockos Incorporated came up with the Reaper application for all the people out there who need a powerful audio editing utility they can use on their Windows or Mac OS X-powered machines. With this application, you can easily record audio, quickly load existing audio tracks, and use numerous functions to edit the audio as you see fit. There are hundreds of processing effects you can use.

As mentioned above, Reaper is available for Windows and Mac OS X – both 32 and 64-bit editions of the operating system. Installing Reaper on Windows is a standard process: download an executable, run it, follow the on-screen instructions presented by the setup wizard. If you’ve ever installed an application before, you should have no problems installing this one. It’s a simple process that will not take much of your time.

Reaper’s user friendly interface can be customized. There are several layouts to choose from, and there are several themes to choose from as well. Speaking about themes, it must be mentioned that from the Preferences menu you can edit the themes. Feel free to set things just the way you like them.

As mentioned above, you can record and load audio into the Reaper application. Then you can use all the functions and features that Reaper has to offer to edit the audio. You can loop, trip, face, crossfade, add effects, and more to edit audio tracks. This sort of functionality will appeal to aspiring musicians, recording studios, and so on.

You have a total of 30 days at your disposal to put Reaper to the test and evaluate the functionality it has to offer. Once this trial period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using the application.

Reaper will amaze you with its ease of use and powerful audio recording and editing capabilities.

Pros

You can go for a portable installation. Reaper is available for 32 and 64-bit Windows and Mac OS X editions. The interface can be customized. Reaper provides powerful audio recording and editing capabilities. Automatically checks for updates.

Cons

Free to use for a trial period of 30 days; nag screen.
